Open-minded families needed for Cross-cultural opportunity

Hi,

Thanks to the facilitators and members of this group for supporting cross-cultural understanding!  As a new member, I am looking to connect with people who are passionate about cross-cultural exchange for themselves, their families, their communities, on and outward and etc.

I spent two very meaningful, life-changing years living in the Republic of Palau as a Peace Corps Volunteer, and now that I am back in the States, I want to help promote these types of experiences for other Americans, whether through travel or through cross-cultural experiences here at home.  I am fortunate to be currently doing this through my job - I work for Youth For Understanding, a nonprofit organization that facilitates international high school exchange opportunities for teenagers from around the world.    All of our exchange students attend local high schools and become a member of a local host family.  Since all our students arrive in August, we are currently working non-stop to connect with families that are willing to open their hearts and homes to our students for a few months, a semester, or the academic year.

If you or somebody you know is interested in learning more, please let me know – We have students arriving this week that do not yet have a host family, and we are in great need of families like yours - with a genuine interest in cross-cultural exchange - to step up, share your home, and change the world: one person, one family, one school, one community, at a time!    You can call or email me with questions, or visit http://www.yfu-usa.org/host-families.php.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Warmly,
