Announcing a new Meetup for Cleveland Cross-Cultural Meetup Group!

What: Killing Kasztner: Cedar Lee / Meet the Director at Marotta's

When: Saturday, April 17,[masked]:00 PM

Where:
Cedar Lee Theatre
2163 Lee Rd
Cleveland, OH 44118
[masked]

Hello All,

A Little Different From Our Usual Plans, but we were invited by the Cleveland Independent Movie Goers, and it sounds like a wonderful film and opportunity to meet a filmmaker.

Killing Kasztner is one of those rare films that gives insight how one individual became a hero for saving Jews during the Holocaust, but at a price.

The Independent Movie Group is very honored to host Kastztner's director Gaylen Ross, at Marotta's (after the question and answer session at the Cedar Lee). We will have the unique the opportunity to discuss the film and ask questions while sipping wine and enjoying delicious appetizers.

This is not an event to be missed.

We are co-sponsoring this event with the Cleveland Faith Meetup to hear their perspective. http://www.meetup.com...

7:00 MOVIE
Meet at the ENTRANCE DOOR 5 minutes ahead of time or look for the group inside the theater or meet us afterward outside near the marquis.

9:30 EATS AND DISCUSSION
Service at Marotta's can be slow but you cannot beat their food. Come for dinner, appetizers or dessert. It is about a 5 minute walk south (left) from the theater at 2289 Lee Road (very close to the Stone Oven). (216)[masked] http://www.marottas.c...

Please let us know your dinner plans on your RSVP so that we can either save you a seat at the "Movie Group" table or plan to meet you at the movie. Checks are processed in groups of 2 or 3 so please bring CASH to pay for your meal.

If you don't see us when you walk in, ask to sit with the "Movie Group".

DESCRIPTION
Dr. Israel Kasztner was considered a hero by many for the role he played in rescuing over sixteen hundred Hungarian Jews from death in 1944. Kasztner negotiated directly with Adolf Eichmann to purchase Jewish lives and thousands were transported to Switzerland on what became known as "Kasztner's train." However, after moving to Israel, many of Kasztner's new countrymen accused him of collaborating with the enemy and he was assassinated in Tel Aviv in 1957.

REVIEW
"A well-balanced and provocative documentary that's equally engaging, poignant and illuminating"
