Tell us about your experience/interest in sailing the CAribbean

I'm launching a web based business with the goal of buying a Irwin 38 sailboat in 2-3 years. The sail plan is LA to Panama, explore the San Blas Panama Islands with Kuna Indians then head to Belize then to Texas, Florida Keys, Cuba, Bahamas, Virgin Islands and more islands. Then up Intercoastal Waterway to New York then Maine. Weather permitting, explore some of Canada & have Scheel shallow draft keel installed. Then sail for Ireland for roughly 17 days. Europe has about 3,000 miles of navigation rivers & canals including Sweden with about 140 miles of rivers, lakes and canals. I'm guessing England may have 300 miles of rivers/canals. The Danube River in Austria offers another 5,000 miles of river to explore about 5 nations ending in former Russia. But I doubt much of it can be explored. The book Yankee Sails Across Europe inspired interest in moving a boat 5, 10 or 200 km instead of packing/unpacking suitcases to explore more of Europe than possible in a 30 to 60 day vacation.

Introduction

Hello I taught sailing in college and professionally for for one summer.
