We'd like to know just a little about who you are and what you're looking for. With that in mind, would you please tell us in one or two sentences what you do for a living?

I received an M.S. in Information and Library Science from Pratt Institute in May 2012; before that, I spent my first career as a writer and editor, for magazines, books, and online publications. I'm finishing up a taxonomy internship while I jobhunt.

If it's not clear from your first answer, are you already practicing content strategy in your work?

I practiced content management and content strategy as deputy editor of Out magazine's website, Out.com, from 2001 to 2007 (as well as deputy editor of the print magazine).

Could you tell us what you're hoping to gain from participation in CSNYC?

I'd Like to learn more about the content strategy field, since it combines my first career (writing and editing) with my new career (information and library science)

Last question. Any ideas about how you might contribute to this group and/or to the field in general?

Can I come to a couple of meetings before I answer that?!

Introduction

I'm beginning a career change to the information professions after a first career in journalism (writing, reporting, and editing).
