Greetings! Here's the latest goings-on with CS-NYC.
RE: MONEY. EVIDENTLY, IT MAKES THE WORLD GO 'ROUND
It was good to see folks at our anniversary party last week. One of the topics that came up as we were chatting is the going rate for CS consultants. Lisa Trager has since added the idea to the site, and I've just set up a poll with ranges anywhere from <$50/hr to >$110/hr (and options for per diem and per project rates, for those of you who only work in that manner).
While ranges are obviously going to vary based on a number of factors, this might be very good information for our community to have. Responses are anonymous, so please head on over to http://www.meetup.com/cs-nyc/polls/242331/
when you have a moment.
THE CASE FOR USE CASES
I've not yet set a date for the July meetup, as we're still short on actual use cases to present. I'm going to be contacting a few people this week to see if we can't make this happen. If not, I'll likely table this idea until later in the year.
Even if we don't move forward on the use case topic, we're looking at late this month for the next meetup. In the meantime, if you have something you think might work, feel free to send me an e-mail.
THIS SPACE INTENTIONALLY FILLED WITH BOILERPLATE
As always, we're always looking for:
- More volunteers
- More event ideas
- More potential spaces for events (especially if you know someone who knows someone I could speak with)
If you can help with any of the above, send me an email!
Thanks all--and stay air conditioned,
