Greetings CS-NYC members,
It's been a few weeks since our last missive, so we'd like to update you on the latest goings-on.
First off, we've decided to delay scheduling our next event until May in order to shore up our venue selection. To this point, none of the public places where we've held events has been a perfect fit for our needs, and we need to find some new venues to try.
While we do have a few places that we're looking into, we could really use some suggestions from all of you. If you happen to live in Manhattan and would be willing to "scout" a few potential locations, that'd be particularly welcome.
Here's our parameters:
- Have space for between 12 and 40 people (our attendance range of late)
- If the place is a bar, they should be willing to lower volume or have some space away from the rest of the crowd
- The optimal set-up would have some tables, but also some space to walk around
At this point, however, we will not insist on "optimal" if we can achieve "suitable." And while a location within the three preferred neighborhoods would be nice, it is no longer a requirement.
If you'd like to make a suggestion, you can send an e-mail to Brian (just reply to this message), or leave a post on our Meetup message board
Speaking of Meetup, they've recently released a new feature that you can use to suggest events: the Ideas page
. We want to make certain that we schedule a range of events that will suit the various interests of our members. So if you've got something you want to discuss, a question you'd like a panel to answer, or anything else you think will be interesting for the group, then try out the new feature.
We should be sending out an announcement of our May event around the middle of April. As always, we hope to see you there!
