Lobby Against Common Core in Albany

COMMON SENSE EDUCATION LOBBY DAY
Albany, NY
June 17th 2014

Join us on an EPIC adventure as we head to Albany to lobby our legislators on their own turf! Thanks to Assemblyman Ed Ra, we have reserved "The Well" inside the NYS Legislature Building for a Lobby Day on June 17th. We are calling on our elected officials to provide us with a COMMON SENSE approach to legislation that will return local control to our schools and reduce undue stress on our children and teachers.

"Common Sense Education Day" will include a meet-and-greet at 11am, where we will rally and hear a few words from speakers like Assemblymen Ed Ra and Al Graf, Dr. Sandra Stotsky, and our statewide grassroots leaders. Then we will visit our legislators in their Albany offices to discuss the current state of our schools and pending legislation. Teams are being formed now!

THIS IS AN ELECTION YEAR!

Elected officials pay attention when large numbers of people congregate around an issue. Lobbying is a powerful way of making our message heard. Let's let them see our numbers and hear our voices!!!

Bus is $39 round trip. MUST BE PAID IN FULL by May 20th. Bus leaves Riverhead at 6am and Melville at 6:30 am. Will depart Albany at 3:30pm for return home.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
