Chris Smith is starting a Functional Programming Special interest group.? If you are interested, please contact him at
It's official, then! ?We're starting a functional programming interest
group in Colorado Springs. ?The first meeting will be this coming
Thursday, June 3rd.
Please spread the word to anyone you know that may be interested. ?So
far, I know we've got people coming who are into Haskell and Clojure,
and I'm doing some reading on Erlang (not a fan of the syntax so far,
but the ideas are good!). ?Hopefully we can also talk about some
cross-language ideas as well. ?I don't plan to actively recruit speakers
from outside the group, but I'm always happy to talk about what I'm
doing or reading about, and hopefully others will be as well. ?I'd also
like to just do some open discussions, sharing some code and ideas,
group hacking, and whatever comes up.
We'll plan to meet two Thursdays per month, those being the Thursday
*before* and *after* the open source group, so there should never be a
scheduling conflict there. ?Until we get larger, we have the conference
? ?Brindle Waye
? ?5585 Erindale Drive, Suite 202
? ?Colorado Springs, CO
Brindle Waye is my company, and is located right off Vickers and
Academy, and practically just around the corner from the east library
where the open source meetup group is held.
Loosely speaking, we'll meet from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm; but I'm locking up
the office after, so it won't be a problem if some people want to stay
later sometimes and continue working on things. ?This meetup.com
site seems nice, so I'll probably throw a page up there.
The group is open to anyone, but due to the limited space in the
conference room, please let me know if you're planning on attending at
[address removed] or just respond to this email.
