MAIN TOPIC ABSTRACT
Embedded Linux Platforms (APC, Raspberry Pi, BeagleBoard)
Cheaper, faster, better: the state of embedded platforms for Linux (at least as much as I know about them). We'll talk informally about the APC, the Raspberry Pi and the BeagleBoard and what makes these good and/or bad platforms for certain applications. We'll cover a bit about build systems for them and some of the issues of getting complete hardware support for them. If possible, I'll boot them and show what they look like on an HDMI monitor (if one is available). If not, I'll just show the boards.

BASIC CONCEPTS ABSTRACT
Simple Video Editing With Kdenlive
Now that most still cameras also have video features, many phones have a video camera and most computers have webcams, capturing moments on video is easier than ever. Sometimes, just posting the video unedited to a social media site is fine...but most times it would be great to get rid of all the dull filler and cut to the chase. Even more, sometimes it'd be great to add a little something extra to the raw footage to give it POP! or a more professional look. Kdenlive is a powerful and full-featured video editor when you're looking for simple or advanced editing concepts found in other non-linear video editing software like Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas, or Final Cut Pro. In this session, we'll get you started by demonstrating the basic tools to manage your video clips, edit them together, and add titles, effects and transitions to make a more polished final product.
