MAIN TOPIC ABSTRACT
Enterprise Content Management with Grails

Content Management means many things to many people, and the only thing more abundant than the number of content management systems out there today are the number of unique use cases for managing content. In this presentation, we'll discuss benefits and pitfalls of both common use and custom approaches, including how building a custom CMS in a rapid-development framework like Grails may be a much better solution for your organization than trying to use an off-the-shelf package. Concentrating on examples from my own journey from off-the-shelf to a fully-custom system, I will review some of the common use cases I've seen for content management in the enterprise, and how using frameworks like Grails enables developers and architects to build custom CMSs more simply, cheaply, quickly, and to a higher standard than products currently marketed as ready-made solutions.
