The Outer Space

Welcome to The Outer Space, a place where we learn together what is out there in the vast expanse of the open source universe.

In order to organize the universe and avoid the fire hose approach as much as possible, the large universe of open source software will be segmented into galaxies or solar systems, if you will, that represent different genres or loose groups of related open source technology. We'll be focusing on one genre per month. The page will be editable by all group members, so please contribute what you know or can find out during the month. During each C(OS)^2 meeting we'll review the knowledge that has been coalesced throughout the month to give our members (as well as the rest of the world) a better, more succinct idea of what is available to them in the open source community.

Don't let that stop you there, though. Feel free to continue to edit and update each genre as new projects and new versions of the projects are released in the future. For some that continue to be updated, we may revisit them in a future meeting as well. Also, if there is a genre you are interested in and would like to make sure makes it on the Outer Space agenda soon, please send a message to assistant organizer, Kevin...we'd love to hear from you. Again, this is a tool to not only benefit you, the open source user, but also to be a part of and interact with together.

And now...to infinity AND BEYOND!
