RE: [css-56] Keep our meetup going

While I have not yet been to a CSS Meetup, speaking as an Investor in technology who is always looking for technical talents, I would consider becoming a Sponsor. Obviously, not as glamorous as Microsoft, but I would hate to see the established CSS Meetup group go by the wayside.

Additionally, VoiceTarget has a Meetup group called Voice Enabled Websites that we continue to pay for, but have yet to do anything with. The focus of the Meetup group was meant to be on SIP and VoiceXML integration with Websites. With all of the recent Unified Communication plug-ins/widgets such as Click2Call type applications there will be some interesting crossover concerning HTML/CSS integration. The possibilities of complementing a merged group with additional technology also peaks my interest.

I really do not have the time or technical knowledge to be a good group organizer, however, if there are organizers/co-organizers that would commit, I would seriously consider adopting the merged Meetup Group and providing sponsorship.

Hi,Tom:

Thanks. I'm not sure if anybody want to organize another HTML5 group, but that's a good idea.

Do you know how can we get the sponsorship from Microsoft? Who is the sponsor for CSS group before?

Now I think we need co-organizers the help me work on the following things:

1. Sponsor connection.

2. Location.

3. Topic and presenter.

Please let me know if you are interested in or would like give suggestion to any of above things.

Thanks,

Norah

I notice that there is a waiting list for an HTML5 Meetup.

I wonder if it might not be more productive to have an HTML5/CSS3 Meetup and try to combine the existing CSS meetup group with the wait-listed HTML5 group.

I wonder if it might be possible to get some Microsoft sponsorship since they are pushing for use of web standards for interface development.

Dear All:

This is Nuo,Xu, just call me Norah.  I'm new to this group. Before I have chance to join even one meetup I was notified that this one is going to close. I guess many people in this group (although I don't know any) might have the same idea as I do , we need this group and we hope it be alive.

To thrive this 6 years old club and benefit everybody here we need more co-organizers. Please let me

know if you would like to be involved in some organization work.

Any  idea and input are really appreciated !

Norah
