RE: [css-56] January meeting questions

All I ask is that we find meeting locations INSIDE THE LOOP and closer to
DOWNTOWN so that the meetings are centrally located.
I personally prefer the Hwy 59 / Downtown area, I know you don't want to
come to Pasadena where I live. But I don't want to go to Katy either. So
I hope we can at least agree on INSIDE THE LOOP.

I'd like to see us use the discussion area more for helping on CSS issues,
someone having a problem doing something in particular with CSS, post it so
we all call learn from those that may have the answer. (Sometimes there's
more than one way to tackle a problem.) I believe we have many CSS newbies
here, it would really be good to know at what level we are all at so we know
what topics are needed. Perhaps I can put up a poll, what do you think?

Subject: [css-56] January meeting questions

It has been a while since we had a physical meet-up and we've got a new
co-organizer since the last one - Ingrid has replaced Norah as you've seen
from earlier mailings. Ingrid's been working on a tip section to add to the
site which should be up before much longer.

We'd like to schedule a meeting after people have had a chance to recover
from the holidays. I've put a poll on the date at

Also, we are looking for ideas on where to meet, preferably where people can
buy refreshments and quiet enough to talk with or without a private room.
Give us your suggestions please as well as topics you'd like to discuss.
Right now I'm thinking many of us could use a good discussion on what we
think it is important for us to know when creating sites for the web and
usability. After all the topic of poor usability and function has been much
in the news lately with a highly publicized failed site launch of Leaving politics aside looking at usability and function
seems a relevant topic. Also, it has been a long time since we've had a help
session where people could bring a problem they are having to get help so
that would be another suggested topic from me. After we've received some
suggested topics, dates and locations we'll send out notices for the next

Have a happy whatever you celebrate this time of year.

On an aside, if anyone has ideas for a good group logo I'd love to see it.
