An evening with Bruce Lawson (of Opera Software)

Come join us for beers, pizzas and a talk from Bruce Lawson (of Opera Software) who will cover some of the topics close to the hearts and minds of Front-end Developers such as HTML5, Accessibility, CSS and JavaScript.

Bruce works for Opera Software's Developer Relations team. He's a Web Standards advocate and is also passionate about topics such as Accessibility and Mobile Web Development.
Find out more about Bruce at www.brucelawson.co.uk/about

Bruce is offering to talk about "How to destroy the web", the same talk he gave as the closing keynote at FOWA London earlier this month.

New Media Labs have sponsored the venue, the beers AND the pizzas.  Big thanks to Paul Cartmel and co!

Join us at 6 for 6:30PM.
Bruce's talk should be roughly 45 minutes long and then we'll play some pool, eat pizzas and talk a little shop. :)

Directions:
There is only on-street parking available at this time.
The entrance to Kings Cross building is between the Surf and Shoe shops. Ring up New Media Labs on the intercom and we'll let you in.
Head upstairs to the first-floor.

Brilliant! It was great to see and hear a highly respected leader in the web industry talking so passionately about a topic we all love with like-minded individuals.

Loved the talk and Bruce's way of talking. He made me think about the way forward and I am thrilled to see how open standards can really shape the future of a unified web.

Is this event really limited to 25 people? I thought I'd "joined" yesterday but I guess I only joined the group... I hate meetup.com ...even Facebook Events beat this system.

Hi Mike - please join the event waiting list so long.
Meetup.com really makes more sense for regular events (something we hope to do) and is a bit confusing for first time users, such as me. :(

Excellent, somebody just dropped out! Thanks and see you all tonight

I'm heading straight home to Bergvliet afterwards, so if somebody wants a dropoff between Woodstock and there, let me know.
