Introduction

Bootstrapping developer with a tech career in startups.

What languages/frameworks do you use (Java, .NET, PHP, Ruby, etc.)?

Javascript, CoffeeScript, Ruby, Rails, Git

What topics might you be interested in?

Growing a team at a controlled pace, retaining talent, good coffee!

Do you have any specific areas of expertise? Would you be willing to share it with the group?

Bootstrapping a tech team's workflow and habits, effective techniques for working with distributed teams.

What is your favorite unit test framework and why?

Rspec was, maybe MiniTest now. Funny, I've never had a CTO over me who could answer this! Rspec is expressive, encourages DRY usage patterns, and make prototyping object or class interfaces easy.

What is your favorite version control system and why?

Git. Fast, free, powerful in it's simplicity. A great branching model and true distributed workflow are both built on that solid base. I think Git is one of the most important tools programmers have been given in the last ten years. The history of it's creation should be an inspiration to any developer, to boot.
