I'm a bit of a generalist within the Web domain, but I'd be happy to share what I know.
Our engineering team uses JUnit, and they're happy with it... I haven't spent much time with it so I'm honestly not sure of its strengths/weaknesses.
Subversion -- it's clean and simple and it works and has so many integrations. Full disclosure: I haven't tried Git yet. But I have tried Mercurial and I thought it was overdeveloped.
