What languages/frameworks do you use (Java, .NET, PHP, Ruby, etc.)?

Greatly prefer Ruby and Javascript (well, Coffeescript now). Delve into a little java when I need to but if possible remain up in Ruby / Javascript

What topics might you be interested in?

I'm interested in hearing other startup CTOs talk more about business and relationships rather than pure technical talks.

Do you have any specific areas of expertise? Would you be willing to share it with the group?

I have built a few scalable distributed ruby based systems and I've dealt with the problems of huge files and uploads (re: video). Now we're working on a fairly large data set (all people in the US) and making it easy for individuals. I'm always willing to share if that's of interest to anybody.

What is your favorite unit test framework and why?

Rspec because it reads like english. TestUnit is getting better in that regard but haven't run into a reason to switch back yet (though the rspec 2.0 fiasco almost did it).

What is your favorite version control system and why?

Git. Git. Git. Distributed, standard, github, branching, etc. (all the normal reasons)
