I'm really into looking at ways we can take practices from the world of Agile/Scrum/TDD and implement them in the non-software parts of a business. It's completely informal but I'd be happy to share my experiences.
Test::Unit does the job, but nothing compares to nUnit
Git. We love the branching. It has enabled us to commit early, commit often and to think of changes atomically.
