Introduction

Hi I'm Robert Whitney, I've been a developer for a number of years, built products, led teams, and bootstrapped companies.

What languages/frameworks do you use (Java, .NET, PHP, Ruby, etc.)?

Ruby, Rails, and other fun stuff.

What topics might you be interested in?

I'm interested in learning about other people's approaches to hiring.

Do you have any specific areas of expertise? Would you be willing to share it with the group?

I think I have done a pretty decent job of applying Github's model of async development using github and campfire to a new team, as well as applying it to an existing team. I might be able to work on some lessons learned and share that I guess.

What is your favorite unit test framework and why?

MiniTest because it's simple and I don't have to do a lot to manage it.

What is your favorite version control system and why?

Git. Is this some sort of joke?
