Introduction

Hi guys. I'm a full-stack web developer at FiftyThree (we make the iPad app Paper). Previous to this, I co-founded a startup called The Thingdom with a friend. Before that, I was a developer and dev lead at Microsoft, and before that, MIT '08.

What languages/frameworks do you use (Java, .NET, PHP, Ruby, etc.)?

Node.js/JavaScript/CoffeeScript currently; ASP.NET/C# before that.

What topics might you be interested in?

Technical leadership primarily.

Do you have any specific areas of expertise? Would you be willing to share it with the group?

Technical expertise in areas related to the web, Node.js, etc., but not sure anything relevant to general technical leadership yet.

What is your favorite unit test framework and why?

Mocha for Node.js. Just a nice interface and good usability, and flexible.

What is your favorite version control system and why?

Git, of course. Just so powerful and flexible.

  • I am interested in a graph database for classical furniture from manufacturers around the world. With one ,major international cliient (not a five star hotel, but with needs very much like one). Main focus is to search on relationships and similar properties. Wanted to find out what you've ;leanred with Neo4j and how far you have advanced with "the thingdom". Let me know and then we can talk. Jim, Denver, CO
