Introduction
Hi Jean, just following up to my email a few minutes ago. It looks like February is already booked, so I'll look forward to the announcement of March's event.
What languages/frameworks do you use (Java, .NET, PHP, Ruby, etc.)?
Java primarily, some python
What topics might you be interested in?
Engineering culture, practices and processes
Do you have any specific areas of expertise? Would you be willing to share it with the group?
Recruiting is an area where I focus a lot, as well as project and schedule management. I also have a background in web search (which I worked on at Google for 3+ years). Happy to share / speak about any of these topics.
What is your favorite unit test framework and why?
JUnit, mainly by virtue of lack of experience with others.
What is your favorite version control system and why?
These days I am mainly using git; the thing I love about git is less inherent to git and more about github - I've never used a VCS that makes it so easy to navigate a codebase and changelog without having a full local copy.
