Introduction
I am the head of development at a hedge fund. I am interested in startup tools, techniques, and organizational structure.
What languages/frameworks do you use (Java, .NET, PHP, Ruby, etc.)?
Java, Python, groovy, javascript, extjs
What topics might you be interested in?
Tool selection, organizational theory, recruitment, compensation structure.
Do you have any specific areas of expertise? Would you be willing to share it with the group?
Service architecture, some design. My firm would have to clear any specifics.
What is your favorite unit test framework and why?
Junit with a custom regression framework.
What is your favorite version control system and why?
Cvs due to best tool integration. Git for raw simple power. Surroundscm for branching and merging gui and interface.
