Hi folks. I'm a senior developer with 10 years of Java web application development experience. I recently made a move from a large IT department to a small company with a 2-person tech team.
Mostly Java and lately a lot of JavaScript since I started using Dojo. Recently I have gotten excited about Spock for unit testing and Selenium/Webdriver since my side project is automating our qa.
Anything to do with making decisions about development processes, choice of technologies, and influencing decision-makers.
Most of my experience is in java web application development. Yes, I'd be willing to share on specific topics with the group.
Spock, for so many reasons: 1. The output on failed tests is a huge advantage over the stack traces you get from JUnit 2. Real-English method names 3. Simple syntax for testing a wide data range in a single test 4. Lets me run all the java code I want within tests 5. It's a great way to start to learn Groovy on the job alongside my usual java development
Git. It's the first system I've used where branching is a trivial act so it's simple to flip from one complete code set to another. Also, much faster than whatever else I've tried.
