I have worked as the technology lead in a number of startups in the network management, network security and photography industries. I'm currently running the operations at PrintedArt, an online photography collection (http://www.printe...
).
Currently using Drupal CMS, which is all PHP. In the past I worked mostly in Java with some detours in C++, Python and various other languages.
Anything tech really. I always like to hear about ways to make things easier, more reliable and faster.
I would say my most valuable expertise is in balancing the various drivers that contribute and sometimes hinder implementation. I have worked with many very bright technology experts and found that the "non-compromising" type who insists that there is only one way (the best) to implement usually has a hard time bringing solutions to market. A good technologist needs to be able to live within a balance of power created by the various elements that have a need for the technology to begin with.
JUnit. I guess I'm a traditionalist and never picked up anything newer ;-)
GIT. I stayed with Subversion for as long as I could resisting change. When I adopted GIT, I realized that I could have saved myself tons of time in the past. We are now running all our deployment into dev, test, staging and production right from our master GIT repository.
This was my first time - it was great.

Hi Klaus! Welcome to the group!
Thank you for joining Klaus. Your online gallery will probably be of interest to some of our members. I would be interested in seeing some of your portrait or people shots to see why you are unhappy with them...
