Introduction

I'm Andrew. I've been a Founder/CTO before and will be again. BS/MS in CS from Carnegie Mellon. 3 years doing graphics R&D for PlayStation at Naughty Dog. One failed web startup (solo founder). Spent time in VC and AngelList working on other skills.

What languages/frameworks do you use (Java, .NET, PHP, Ruby, etc.)?

Ruby, Rails, Sinatra. Javascript, Node.js, Express. Scheme. C, Assembly (X86, PPC, SPU).

What topics might you be interested in?

Stack/architectural decisions, operations management, team structure/management, interacting with CEO/COO and investors as a CTO, unique technical challenges, etc.

Do you have any specific areas of expertise? Would you be willing to share it with the group?

My deepest knowledge is in PS3 development - happy to talk about it. As a startup CTO, I'm applying what I learn.

What is your favorite unit test framework and why?

I see the value of unit tests; I don't take it as dogma that they need to be used.

What is your favorite version control system and why?

Git. Lightweight branches and rebase uber-alles.
