Major announcement

Hail, fellow museum-goers!

I hope everyone is still fired up about the New Year, albeit the fireworks of past Friday have given way to the drudgery of another bleak, grey, I-hate-my-job Monday. And how about all those triumphantly-made resolutions of a few days ago? :) Still feeling like you have a whole year ahead to get started on them? :) No, New Year's resolutions never work; that's why on December 31st I, for a change, resolved to not make any whatsoever this time. And I have to say, I've been sticking pretty good to my implementation timetable for that so far...

Allright, I have something real to talk about. Those rumors I started circulating a while back about me running out of sufficient time to devote to our wonderful group going forward are all true. Yes, apart from needing more time to make good on my important resolutions for this year, I also intend to resume a few other shelved projects from years past, as well as get involved in a couple more, new lines of activity. Helaas... Or maybe, gelukkig. Which is not to say I'm throwing my Museum Card out just yet; I simply want to make it officially known that I will not be in a position to do much organizing in the coming months... Still might do something now and then, you never know, but we do need someone new at the top to praise and blame for everything that goes right or wrong.

And so, to make a long and heart-rending story short, I will herewith invite a responsible individual (of impeccable character and deep cultural je-ne-sais-quoi) to step forward between now and the end of January to take over the fasces, myself until then remaining in the capacity of a "Shadow organizer". As in: pulling the strings, but not doing much otherwise :)

Well, ladies and gentlemen... Who has got it in them to be our next Grand Master (Mistress) of Gatherings? May the worthiest step forward!

Scribonius,
Incumbent Shadow Grand Master of Gatherings,
Original author of the aforegiven email.
