Join art aficionados in search of treasures at world renown museums, contemporary galleries, and the hip new art scenes sprouting up.

THE SOCIAL VIBE

The good news is your fellow members are a sharp mix of people who are inquisitive and outgoing. Most are college age mid 20s to early 50s. But all ages welcome, minors with an adult. 

Come have a tall hot mocha at Coffee House Meet & Greets, hosted every couple of months at the Sherman Oaks Galleria. Parking validated by Starbucks. Suggested Events: Gallery openings and parties, artist talks and studio tours, book clubs, live music venues, art walks, public art tours, movie theaters, art fairs, art workshops, and classes.

EXPRESS ANOTHER SIDE OF YOURSELF BY EXPLORING THE CULTURAL ARTS

Many of you are choosing to explore The Arts in mid life. You have achieved so much already. But now you want to learn how cultures express themselves through the centuries. Think of your social media group as a tasting room where you can try out the veritable smorgasbord of venues from the LA underground to must-see museum exhibitions. It’s time to invest in yourself. Suggested Events: Panel discussions, lectures, must see exhibitions at Universities, famous art schools, and world-class museums. Enjoy poetry readings, art history boot camp, and book clubs. Art classes, workshops, seminars. We may be invited to special fundraisers for The Arts or other causes.

Dues renew every year. Additional event admissions, cover charges  (usually museums, music venues, bars) or enrollment fees (classes) are the responsibility of each member. Many events are free of charge.

New Updates to Rules: Meetup Organizers from other groups are more than welcome. We have many. However, spamming our event pages and using our group to recruit for your own is not appreciated by our members. If you want to work together on an event, please send an email to the lead organizer. We are open to reaching out to other meetups on a case by case basis, perhaps this summer. Thank you.

ABOUT DUES FROM MEETUP

There are many reasons why some Organizers charge membership dues: the funds may be used to cover costs associated with the Meetup Group -- things like supplies for a project, rental on a space, or refreshments for the Meetup, excetera.

Organizers pay Organizer Dues to Meetup in order to run their Meetup Groups, so the membership dues may be used to help offset those costs. It's up to the organizer on how to collect dues, and how the funds ought to be used. Fees are subject to change.

ABOUT JOINING MEETUP GROUPS

"Organizers essentially own and operate their Meetup Groups. They often establish membership policies or ground rules for participation. (Organizers may also remove members at their own discretion.)"

"If you have been denied membership, you can always join a different Meetup Group or even start your very own and invite others to join it! Starting a second Meetup Group in your area can be a great benefit to your community and we'll be here to help you every step of the way." -MEETUP
