Swing Dance to Doc Scanlon's Rhythm Boys

  • Sep 14, 2013 · 7:45 PM

Great dance music and a great way to get out and meet new people. This event already has a very friendly built-in crowd, so you can expect enthusiastic dancers of all levels and everyone dances with everyone else.

And if you don't know how to dance yet, no problem! There's a beginners lesson at 7:45 so you can learn some basic moves. No doubt you'll be picking up some more later on too! The fun-filled 45 minute lesson will get you swing dancing on the spot.

They play a mix of Jump Blues, Roots Rock and Swing with artists like Louis Prima, Louis Jordan, Chuck Berry as well as many Big Band Era classics. They even throw in some early swinging Beatles tunes.

The dance is held at the (AIR CONDITIONED) Armenian Cultural Center in Watertown.

      Hi Cassia,

This is a public dance. We do sell soft drinks and water. We rent out a gym and there are chairs set up, but not tables. Since there is a live band, most money goes to them. So, it's not a meetup event as much as an event where meetups can meet and have a good time dancing. There will be a Meetup sign on the right hand side of the hall, halfway up, where you can congregate.
