8-week Swing Dance class - Beginner and Swing Plus

Missed the swing dance outings because you don't know how to dance? Gone to a dance and want to do more than they teach in the beginner lesson? Here's your chance to learn! Beginner and Swing Plus classes starting in Arlington on September 25.

Swing is hot again, and as fun as ever. Learn triple rhythm and basic six-count moves, the foundation for all swing styles, including Lindy, Jitterbug, and Jive. Whether you like Big Band or Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, George Strait or Dire Straits, oldies or new generation, you can swing to them all. Come with a partner, or come alone.

These classes will get you ready to dance the night away. Please be comfortable with the 6-count basic, loop, and arch turns before taking the Swing Plus class, where we will introduce 8-count rhythms.

Classes are run through Arlington Community Education. You need to register with them by going to their website at www.arlingtoncommunityed.org

Classes are held on Wednesday evenings, beginning September 25. Time is 6:30-7:45 pm for the beginner class, and 7:45-9 pm for the Swing Plus class. The cost is just $85 for the 8-week session.

Hope to see you there.

    Hi,
Is it too late to join the advanced class? It sounds like ou may have more leaders than followers.

    Hi
I would love to do this more on the Northshore area, if you ever have someone planning on this side not a good night driver. This sounds like alot of fun, an excercise to double win!

Ellen mentioned missing the first lesson, is it possible for me to do something after I've missed the first one too?

    September 23, 2013

    • Julie K.

As I told Ellen, I would normally say join anyway, but I have an abundance of women in the class, so I would suggest waiting for the next session, which probably starts late January. Julie

Yes, that would be fine. We need leaders, so I'll be happy to have you. We'll be practicing the basic step for much of the first class, so you'll be able to catch on. Please sign up at www.arlingtoncommunityed.org Julie

      HI Ellen:

I would normally say that it is okay to join if you miss one class, but right now I have an abundance of women, so I would recommend waiting for the next session, probably in January.
