MFA First Friday

Let's meet out in the lobby in front at the main entrance at 6pm. near the statue of Orpheus and Cerberus (3 headed dog). Then we will head in at 6:10 to make sure we get in. We will congregate and get some tables to the left near the big cube with the poster, which has the stairs and the elevator behind it.

Try not to be late, as it fills up quickly and then they stop letting people in. I am BIll, 6'4".

The cost of museum entry is $25, but if people  have dual memberships they can get others in for free, so if you have a dual let us know via meetup comments, or RSVP comment.

I will usually email my phone # before the event to attendees so if you miss us in the foyer you can call or text (preferred) if you can't find us when/if you get in.   Look at everyone's pictures so we know who is going.  I will try to bring a copy of the pictures and will keep an eye out to say hi & introduce people.

BE SURE TO GET THERE EARLY, AS THE PLACE FILLS UP AND THEY TURN PEOPLE AWAY.  You need a license or Mass ID to enter.

Please change your RSVP if you can not make it.

We can go out after for food or drinks at a convenient location, such as a restaurant on Huntington Ave.

My info has it there are 2 new temporary exhibitions --one with the watercolors of John Singer Sargent & another called Hippie Chicks, so if you're able to get there before the Meetup, supposedly you can visit the Museum first.

It is 1:00 or so on Thursday. I just called the MFA and bought my ticket over the phone as a non-member. As of now, there is still space. Credit card and ID required at the door.

Do I need to remind members that you can buy tickets for this EVENT on line at the MFA website - if you do not have an advanced ticket, you are not guaranteed admission to the event. Last month the event was sold out, and they have frequently turned people away. You need your admission ticket - which is free for members, $25 for others, and a free ticket to this event, also.

Ron, thanks for this -- for some of us (like me!) it was new info and not a reminder at all. And, much appreciated.

I would appreciate sharing a guest pass and wonder about the best way to connect with someone? Last time I asked I did not get a response, so if anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate hearing them. Thanks!
