Expression Blend for WPF & Silverlight developers

Infusion Development (map)

Selected By: Rob Fonseca-Ensor

Sam Bourton will be showing us how to use Expression Blend to rapidly design/develop visually engaging User Interfaces and increase developer/designer productivity with WPF and Silverlight.

Sam (from http://www.quantumbla...) is a professional WPF and Silverlight trainer and author - for our meetup he will be giving a WPF developer focussed presentation on how to become very productive with Expression Blend.

What you can expect to learn:

  • How to use the Blend environment, access key functionality, and use the different types of controls.
  • Create and manage resources and resource dictionaries within Blend.
  • Create, edit, and apply Styles and Control Templates to different controls.
  • Bind controls to sample and runtime ViewModel data and commands.
  • Make your applications stand out with animations, visual states, effects, and behaviors.
  • Use Sketchflow to create dynamic wireframes for your applications as part of an effective User Experience (UX) process.

While the presentation is targeted at developers with WPF experience who have not yet gotten to grips with blend, if you're new to WPF it will be a great introduction, and if you're familiar with blend then you just might pick up something new.

Pizza and beer will be provided
