We have just received this notice from Carol, our Czech Republic Honorary Consul in Pittsburgh about Czech film director Petr Lom whose documentary will be shown today, Saturday, April 13, 2013 at CMU at 7:00 pm. Petr Lom is in Pittsburgh to hold a discussion after the showing of "Back to the Square."

The 2013 Carnegie Mellon International Film Festival: Faces of Media will be screening Czech director Petr Lom's documentary, Back to the Square, TODAY (Saturday 07/13) for our Closing Night event at 7pm at the McConomy Auditorium in CMU’s University Center! The event will also feature a discussion with Petr Lom and a Closing Night reception provided by Allegro Hearth Bakery and Margaret’s Fine Imports!
Filmed throughout the first year of the Egyptian Revolution's aftermath, Back to the Square is a powerful documentary that reveals the Egyptian citizens' continuing struggles against injustices at the hands of the State. Director Petr Lom explores the lives of five seemingly unrelated Egyptians and addresses the extensive human rights issues still plaguing their nation. Presented in conjunction with The Center for the Arts in Society @ CMU. Regular Admission*: $5 seniors and students | $8 general * $3 discounted tickets for groups of 10 or more ** Director Petr Lom will also be holding a film workshop on Monday, April 15, at 5pm at the Giant Eagle Auditorium in CMU’s Baker Hall.
