Lida gave me a tip on this event - it's a Czech heritage festival in West (I-35 south of DFW). You can see more details at http://www.westfest. com/. I am most probably going camping to Broken Bow, but if anyone would like to go to the Westfest, please contact Lida, who is going there. The festival is taking place for all three days of the Labor Day weekend, starts on Friday afternoon/evening and ends on Sunday afternoon. There are various events going on during the festival, so please check out the website for more details.

Let's meet for a Labor Day Weekend Camping in Broken Bow Oklahoma. Leona and her group has been there several times and it is really great. It is about 2 - 3 hrs from DFW, so you don't have to stay the whole time. It is better to come on Friday to find a free space but it is not necessary, since somebody will definitely go on Friday. It is ok to come also just for a day if you don't want to sleep over. It is a kid friendly place, everybody who has is bringing kids (not sure about pets, but I think they are ok too). You will need tents, chairs and other camping gear, also wood for a fire (usually they don't allow to gather wood around), swimsuits, etc. I will post more details as we get closer, or if you have questions, you can contact me or Leona.

Ready to cool off from this heat? It's time to go tubing down the Brazos river, a family-friendly event! Throw out the notion of running whitewater rapids in a tube. The whole idea of tubing is relaxing! We'll have a cooler, so bring a beverage of your choice and kick back! You need to bring a driver's license (to rent the tube), some cash (approx $20 for rentals), hat, sunscreen, and water to drink. If you can't afford to lose it, leave it at home or in the car. Zip-lock bags are great to keep your cash dry. Optional items include sunglasses, river shoes/sandals, snacks, or waterproof camera. Definitely no glass containers or styrofoam. We'll meet at one of the river rental outfitters just outside of Glen Rose at 10:00 AM. We'll float for about 3 hours, then take the shuttle back. Come on! The water is warm!

Let's meet for a Rangers Game at Arlington Ballpark. We have a VIP suite thanks to Jana and Craig! The space is limited to 14. We have 10 free tickets and in addition, there are four more passes to the Suite. To use a pass, you would have to buy a $10 ticket to anywhere in the stadium and use the pass to get up to the Suite. First 10 will have a free ticket and then you will have to pay 10 dollars to be with us in the suite. There are 3 free parking passes. It will probably make sense for people to carpool from some nearby location because the parking spots they provide are very close to the stadium. Four or five people per car would get everyone there without paying for parking or having a long walk. The game is on August 2nd. Game starts at 7:05. Gates open two hours prior. I think we should meet at least 30 mins before the start. We will determine when we know who's coming. The Texas Rangers baseball team plays the Toronto Blue Jays. The Rangers are currently battling for 2nd place in their division and have several All-Star players on their team. We will be in the Arlington City Suite which is the best located suite in the stadium. It is directly behind home plate. The box has an outdoor part and an indoor air conditioned part. The outdoor part is like stadium seating. The indoor part is like a living room and kitchen. You have to take a private elevator to the Suite. All necessary maps and instructions will be provided when a person says they want to attend. You cannot really bring food or drink into the game. They will have a waiter who serves the suite. The food is slightly on the expensive side as Craig recalls. They have a big and diverse menu. I am thinking we meet before the game at a certain spot and distribute the tickets due to possible last minute attendance changes. This will be determined as we get closer.

I found out that there are great concerts by the lake in Rockwall, every Thursday. Let's meet July 31st. These are a picnic style, you can bring blanket, folding chairs, food, drinks and enjoy. Let's meet at a spot right under the restaurant Gloria as Leona suggested, slightly farther from the music so that we can talk. The concert is free and begins at 7:30 p.m.

Let's meet at Cardona's Mexican restaurant for a meal and then we can go to see Rodeo for a little bit, followed by possible drinks in a bar nearby. The Rodeo starts at 8 PM, so I think we will have plenty of time to eat (and hopefully we will find parking easily since we will be there earlier). Cowboy boots and hats are optional :)

We have some great poker players in our group as I found out, so let's meet, play poker and have fun. I need to limit this meeting in size so that we can all have fun in one group. I know that boys are into poker, maybe girls can play something else, or not, I am leaving it up to the moment's whim. I am not sure about the location, let's establish it for now in our house (Lewisville) but it may change.

I got some positive feedback on a game night, so let's meet at Dave & Buster's in Dallas. Sorry, there is no D & B in Fort Worth (this one is closest to you guys). They have a restaurant and a hall with various games. So let's eat first to gain strength for all the fun and then we can play!!!

Check out this website to see the ad for the party. http://www.bigdcats. com/main/page_events _pages_shrimpcrawfis h_boil.php I heard that there are a few people that have birthday around 20th May (me included) so it may be a great opportunity to celebrate. The boat is BYOB so I am bringing champagne, please feel free to bring any drinks that you like. If you'd like to join us for this party, please RSVP on the meetup website and go to the website above to make a reservation and pay for the boat ticket.
