Welcome to the Austin Dachshund Meetup Group! Here you will meet fellow dachshunds near you who gather for play dates, camaraderie, and educational opportunities such as agility, training, pet first aid, etc. The events are held at fenced dog parks, indoor play areas for off-leash play, and even seasonal parties and some of the many dachshund friendly restaurants in and around Austin! All small breed dogs are welcome to join as Honorary Doxies. You are welcome to come to the meetups, even if you don't have a dachshund.

We support the rescue and adoption of dachshunds. If you’d like to "test drive" a dachshund, we have information on how to be a foster parent to wiener dogs that were rescued from the shelter. For more information on rescue, fostering, and adoption, go to www.ctdr.org

Since this is our November meetup, I thought it appropriate to take time to be thankful for our dachshunds that give us unconditional love when we've had a bad day, warm our feet at night, or give us an excuse to buy toys and dog costumes, etc.
There are so many doxies that do not have a home or people to rub their tummies, so I would like to ask everyone to bring something to donate to Central Texas Dachshund Rescue. Read more
