This is an annual fundraiser by Central Texas Dachshund Rescue. Lots of vendors- Lots of shopping for us "doxie-a-holics "! It will be in the San Jacinto room at the Renaissance Hotel in the Arboretum from 10am - 4pm. **This is a people only meetup. We wouldn't want our furkids to see their presents now, would we??** I will update as the date gets closer. Also check www.ctdr.org for more details. You won't want to miss this!!

Since we all will have perfected our fabulous costumes just one week earlier at our Howl-O-Weenie Costume Ball, we will have no problem winning some of these categories! Dogadillo also is one of the sponsors graciously sponsoring our event by donating a wonderful prize! Below are the details: Dogadillo and The Hill Country Galleria present a Howling good time for your family and your pet. Sunday, October 25th in the HCG Amphitheater from Noon - 6:00 P.M. This year's event will include many activities and vendor booths that will be fun and educational including many rescue groups with adoptable dogs. Check back often as we will post the activities and vendors that will be at this years event. The costume contest will have fabulous prizes awarded in the following categories: * Most Creative * Best Team Spirit * Celebrity Look-a-like * Scariest Registration will begin at 2:00 PM with the judging at 4:00 PM. Okay everyone... it's that time of year! Time to dust off those Halloween costumes and be creative. This is our first annual Howl-O-Weenie Costume Ball. There will be food and drink and prizes for best costume in categories Prettiest, Scariest, Most Original, and "Me and My Person"! This is a new location and a new sponsor for our meetup so let's all come out, show our support for local business, and Keep Austin's Dachshunds Weird!!! Update 9/19/09:I visited this venue today and it is FABULOUS! There is a stage for our doxies to strut their stuff, a full bar, music, and awesome owners! The winners will be chosen by a panel of 4-6 judges (I am taking suggestions, volunteers, drafts, etc,!! so if someone is interested or you know your spouse would LOVE to do this, volunteer them and email me to let me know!!) Since this is a Costume Ball, I could use a couple of volunteers to assist with decorating, serve as door greeters, "stage" the doxies (and their people) for their moment on stage, etc. The more, the merrier!! This is a Costume Ball, so everyone is encouraged to come out in costume!!Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds Lucy In The Sky With Diamondson S. Congress is giving our group 20% discount-just mention "Howl-O-Weenie Ball for Dachshund Meetup at the register! Also, after the costume contest is over, where else but in Austin could you waltz with your doxie?? (There will be music... and lots of it!!) It is located in the SoCo Lofts Suite #116. It is on the far corner. Here is the web site for SoCo Lofts http://www.liveonsoc o.com/location.asp Feel free to call me (512) 350-0320 or email me directly janelle@coy.com for any questions or suggestions

Yes, I realize this is early on a Saturday morning, but I hear that August in Austin is brutal,so we're doing it early!! A local Cub Scout pack has graciously offered to be there selling water, soda, etc. (proceeds to be split 50/50 between their pack and Central Texas Dachshund Rescue) to help us beat the heat!

http://www.roadwayev ents.com/RoadStar/Ev ents-cat.asp?media1I d=1324 This is a dog friendly event (and is publicized that way!) Presented by Amplify Credit Union and Whole Foods Market and all those who love ice cream, the 3rd Annual Austin Ice Cream Festival is an event centered around family, fun, and ice cream which harkens back to a time when ice cream trucks roamed the streets and running through sprinklers was an art form. While having a great time, we will also be raising money for local charities, such as the Austin Children's Shelter, La Leche and Habibis Hutch.
