Weather is heating up, and Watson Park is not a good choice for the Spring/Summer heat. As small dog owners, we must be careful where we meet: A small dog area is a must, protection from cars at busy cross-streets, natural medium as artificial grass gets hot when the weather does, cool areas for the humans as well as the dogs - which narrows parks down a lot.

We love Ed Levin dog park. We know you will too...Unfortunately, it does have an entrance fee, but if you get a yearly pass all county parks are available for you with one low fee.

It's not as far as you think as it's off 680 - just a skip up the road!

I noticed a lot of members came to Watson Park a few hours AFTER the scheduled Meetup last month - was it the heat that kept you away earlier? If so, please join us at the scheduled time to make all our Meetup's successful! We MISSED you!

Throw a folding chair (or 2) in your trunk, mosey up the road, and enjoy the natural beauty of Ed Levin Park with the rest of your fellow Dachshund Lovers! There's lots of shade, lots of activity around (hang gliding) - and so safe.

See you there!

Sorry I couldn't make it this time, dental appointment got in the way -- so next month, is the meetup at Ed Levin Park or is it canceled, cause of the Weiner races?

I always enjoy going to Ed Levine park with my doxies but I can't attend on May 18 due to a bridal shower conflict. See you all next time.

I love the conversations going on! Our group is best when members stay involved...good idea Cezar, perhaps we should all walk around the pond at some point!

EdLevine park is beautiful place. Great environment for our doxies to frolic in. Aside from the shade in the small dog area, there is a pond with ducks, also families of wild turkeys roaming around. Usually after playtime I leash Ulysses up and we walk around the pond so he can sniff his heart (our dogs however small, are still hounds) as he was bred to do. Hope you all come out and we'll see you there.

As much as I would love to attend this meetup I already have plans to go camping this weekend. Elizabeth is right about Watson park not having any shade for us to enjoy the fun, so the next meetup I'll drive a couple of miles to Ed Levin Park so Bella and I can be in the shade.
    See you there next month.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
