I have not attend a meet yet, but I certainly would like to! It is just that my dog is very aggressive towards dogs she has never seen before. She is a tiny little thing being a miniature and all, but she always tries to start things with big dogs. She plays with a larger dog that is a golden retriever, but no other dogs. I would love to bring her to this so much!! I am afraid that I will go all the way out to the meet and then she won't stop barking. I am not sure on what to do really...

Any help would be appreciated!

mine is the same way, shes a minature also, and she also only plays with a boxer and the other doxie we have. i was also afraid of the same thing happening. but they are like pack dogs, the moment they see the other ones they instantly just wanna run around and play with them :)

Mine is the same way. I bring her and leave her leash on her until she calms down. Than I let her run around with her leash trailing so I can catch her easily if she starts anything. Yep, everyone knows Peanut as she trails her pink leash every where. :) We also usually have a x-pen so the dogs that misbehave can go in 'time out'.

Hi!

My name is Karli and my parents are Joe and Kelly Landgraf. I always bark my head off at the meetups. Sometimes my brother Spike will "start something" with other dogs but mom says it is okay because that is why we come to meetups.....to learn social skills. Sometimes mom just keeps Spike on his leash until he calms down a bit. The other doggy moms and dads are real nice and they understand that some of us are still learning. I have gotten better and better at each meetup. Now I only really bark at BIG doggies.

I hope you come to our next meetup!

Keep your baby on a leash and just see how she reacts. I kept my Roxy on a leash for the first few meet ups. We havent been in a long time. My Roxy lives with big dogs too. Dauschunds bark, it's just what they do. Just keep her on her leash, and if she starts to act aggresive, pick her up and give her reassurance. don't you be nervous cause she will pick up on that. She will be ok and so will you! smile
