I personally would not use "store bought" broth, because of the salt and you don't know "what" was cooked (certainly not organic).  You can get one of those little bitty sauce/dipper crock pots.  Put a piece of raw meat in it and let it cook for a couple of hours.  Then you have at least a weeks worth of homemade broth depending on how much you give your dog.

Hey! I just thought of something.... I make it by the gallon or two for my dog boarding business.  I can start selling this stuff. LOL

Thanks Macy. Amy chance store bought broth would work too?  I don't cook a lot meat in our home.

They are straining because there is not enough natural oil in the food.  Consider doing what I do, when I'm giving my dog holistic food like S&C, is hydrate it with homemade meat broth and I even add 2 tablspoons home made broth over that too.  So for dinner, when cooking your meat, just cut out a piece, fill up a small pan of water and let it soft boil.

The smell fills up the kitchen, the dogs love it and when my dogs see me bringing their food to them, it's so funny to see them jumping up and down and even with their tongue licking their lips.  Oh - the joys of having "I love you" dogs. LOL

You will also see a dramatic difference in the dog's coat - sheen and soft.

Good morning,

For those feeding their pups Stella and Chewy's; after some research and trial and error we decided on S&C. The pups love it and have been eating it for several months now.

My concern is they sometimes appear to be struggling to go poo. It's not all the time but enough that I worry. Has anyone else experienced this?
