Garland Off-site Pet Adoption Day

Oak Park School (map)

Selected By: Rex

Garland Animal Shelter Off-Site Dog adoption (maybe some kittens too!).

This is a chance to show that DWL heart and spirit. I know alot of our members love animals. If you have never done this you will be amazed how good it can make you feel to see these homeless animals find homes. My heart warms up when I think of the last adoption we had. A little girl's daddy brought her to find a dog. There was a cute little Border Collie she liked. They played a while and it was clear from the start that they were a good match. The girl, the dog and the dad were clearly very happy. That little girl will always have fond memories of the dog.

This is a joint meetup with the Garland Bark Park group. Click here to see more details;

PLEASE CONTACT DEBBIE @ THE EMAIL ADDRESS BELOW WITH ANY QUESTIONS

**Volunteers needed to be at the site at 8AM to set up shade tents and get ready to receive the dogs we bring in.

**Volunteers needed with trucks/SUV's to meet at the shelter at 8:15AM to transport the dogs (in crates provided by the shelter) to the adoption site. (if you have extra crates at home, please bring them incase we need them - please tag them with your name).

**Volunteers needed from 8:30 - 4PM to 'show off the dogs' this is hard work, we take turns ALL day walking the dogs, begging folks to pull over and adopt these dogs. We are VERY successful in adopting almost every single dog we bring out to these event..but we need YOUR help!

**Volunteers needed at 3:30 to return any dogs not adopted out back to the shelter by 4PM.

Please RSVP YES and note if you have an interest in helping out with one or more of the above. If you can be there all day, great..if you can help for a few hours - please let us know what times you will be arriving. Please email Debbie with your phone number and come to the June 17th volunteer meeting if at all possible.

We have plenty of collars and leashes, we do need large colorful bandanas for big dogs (we have plenty for small dogs). Please bring your own water/drinks/snacks - or they can be purchased from nearby businesses during the day. We will supply ice chests/ice for the volunteers.

    We found homes for 15 out of 18 dogs. Great job.

    Lots of very nice and tame dogs. All dogs came with leashes, so it was easy to walk them and show them off. I had lots of fun. Will definitely help with this again.
