COSTUMING and Subversive Knitting

More on scars, wounds, and bruises; other types of costume make-up; getting started on patterns and sewing.

This is not your grandma's knitting circle, unless your grandma is an aging punk/hippy with anarchistic blood and scars from the culture wars. All levels welcome from beginners through to holy-crap-how-did-you-do-that. If you've never done it before, don't worry about bringing yarn or needles, we'll have some for you to try out.

This is the discussion group for and around the Subversive Knitting class held every Wednesday at 7:00 pm at Dallas Makerspace. You don't have to know how to knit to show up, and if you're already an old pro, you'll still enjoy yourself. It's half instruction, half stitch-n-bitch.

Instructor: Dawn Ellis
Cost: Free, but please RSVP.

I am sew-ophobic.I hope to overcome this by learning how to design and sew a costume with Dawn's wisdom and guidance.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
