Planning For Complexity & Growth
Sometimes a data driven website is a simple matter. Sometimes it only starts out that way. Membership records can grow from dozens to hundreds to thousands (or more). Performance or historic logs can grow astronomically. The ongoing need to coordinate different sets of data can lead to outrageously complex schema and duplicate data. How can you avoid those troubles? There are ways. Tommy Falgout (PHP Developer at YaHoo!) will talk about designing your database for growth and performance before those challenges become bottlenecks on your website.
AFTER-SHOW EVENT!
Following the January presentation, we had a large number of people hang out late and talk (which was great!) This month, We've decided to revive the DallasPHP After-Show get together at the Fox & Hound. Your hosts are Jason Ragsdale, Co-Organizer of DallasPHP and Chris Cornutt, the man behind PHPDeveloper.org . Everyone is invited for great company with available food, drinks, and games!
The February Presentation will be held in our favorite location on February 10, 2009 at 7PM-9PM:
The Offices at Yahoo!
The Riverwalk Conference Room
