Tanner Hearne: "Hello Laravel: Its Reuse and Ingenuity"

  • SoftLayer Offices

Sorry for the late notice for this month's meeting! We're happy to have Tanner Hearne join us from the DFW Laravel user group to talk about the Laravel framework and "resuse and ingenuity"!

"Laravel is a PHP framework. Are you curious about it? Where did Laravel come from? In this talk we hope to provide that history and then walk through key functionality that Laravel offers to power great web applications. From Composer, to Artisan, to Eloquent ORM, to Repositories and Interfaces, and more."

Tanner Hearne is a technology strategist, web developer, and is the Director of Technology at The Music Bed in Fort Worth. Tanner also organizes Laravel DFW, a meetup group specifically dedicated to Laravel in the DFW area.  Follow Tanner at @tannerhearne, and Laravel DFW at @LaravelDFW

Come join us this Tuesday night (the 8th!) and come hear Tanner speak and hang out with fellow PHP devs!

Thanks to everyone who came out last night - it was a great talk! If you're interested in learning more about Laravel, be sure to check out the group Tanner organizes, Laravel DFW http://www.meetup.com/laravel-dallas-fort-worth. Their upcoming meetup features a Q&A with Taylor Otwell, the creator of the Laravel framework: http://www.meetup.com/laravel-dallas-fort-worth/events/172761382

Tanner & David were well prepared. They presented the material in a manner that shows they are interested and committed to Laravel and to sharing their experience with it to others who can benefit.

I want to go, but I need a little help. Anyone in the Fort Worth area willing to give me a ride? I'll compensate a bit.

Last week I got hit on the highway (hit-n-run - grrr!), and the resulting smash into the guardrail totaled the car and banged me up a bit. I'm healing and working on a new plan for wheels, but I don't think I'm ready yet to safely do that much highway rush hour driving.

Yes, but isn't it too late now? Sorry I didn't see your reply right away.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
