Contra Dance

Our next dance is again at the old Southside School (190 E. Liberty, Reno) on Saturday,  November 9, 7:30 PM.

Come at 7:00 PM for introduction to contra dancing and for development of contra dance skills.

At the dance, Leslie Mink will be the caller, with the Quincy band doing the music.  Leslie has in the past played with the band but has also developed into a caller.  The Quincy Band has a lively contradance sound, and we always enjoy their energy.

Cost:  $10

Prior to the contra dance, we will have a potluck

Dinner at the home of two of our members, starting at 5:30, with the annual membership meeting at about 6:30.  All are welcome,  whether members or not.  At our membership meeting, members only will elect the slate of candidates for next year's board.  All are invited to discuss how to make our dances better and how to build our community.  We are still looking for board members for 2014, so let us know if you are interested.  Please message one of the organizers for details on where the potluck is being held.

We continue to remind you all of new policies:

1) Food refreshments will now be handled as a "potluck".  Please think about bringing something once in awhile to share.

2) Water will no longer be provided, so bring your own water bottle or be prepared to visit the water fountain downstairs from our dance hall.

As always, check our website (http://www.sierracontra.org) for our full schedule and for more information on contra dancing.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
