I've been trying to convince her for a while, too bad she joined the day I decided to go with the Brooklyn group. Glad she joined.

She and I ran together; she's very fit. Please say "hi" from me and I hope she comes out again with us soon...:-)

Weekend runs are always defined by the run leaders and the distance may vary according to their plans. That said, here are some recommended workouts for the weekend of May 4-5...

Good luck this weekend, NEW JERSEY MARATHONERS!

BROOKLYN HALF competitors: 13-16M at progression run pace

EVERYONE ELSE, runners building a base or maintaining their current fitness level: 7-12M @ long run pace

Long run pace is slightly faster than easy, but is still 45-60 seconds/mile slower than marathon goal pace (or your estimated goal pace if you were training for a marathon). A progression run starts at long run pace for the first half of the distance, then gradually speeds up (a little bit every mile or 10 minutes) to reach a top speed of half-marathon pace -- but finish with one easy mile.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
