Prospect Park Training Run

We will be doing a Prospect Park training run meeting at the Grand Army Plaza Entrance to the Park (right outside the Park) at 7:00 PM. The planned run will be posted at last 24 hours before the start of the training run. Please post your planned pace for the run so we can make sure everyone will have a companion to run with!

    I have to do 5 repeats of 2M at MP with half mile recovery, which for me is 7:35-7:40. Anyone who wants to do their repeats at that pace let me know!

    Recommended workout for August 20:

    1 mile warmup. Then...

    A short interlude of form drills on something slanted like a hill or stairs. Then...

    MOST RUNNERS (marathoners + non-marathoners witl a solid base): 2-3 x 2 miles at tempo pace with a half-mile recovery. Tempo pace is between half marathon and 15K speed.

    IF BUILDING A BASE (new to speedwork or returning after time off): 2-3 x 2 miles at marathon pace with a half-mile recovery.

    Everyone should finish with 1 mile of easy jogging to cool down.

    * Marathon pace = your goal pace or estimated pace if you were well-trained.
    * All other paces = your estimated pace if you ran the race this weekend, unless goal pace is specifically noted.
