Join us as we do a Beep Test benchmark workout!
What better way to celebrate the World Cup than to run the preferred endurance test of soccer (football!) teams everywhere - The Beep test is an aerobic cardiovascular endurance test that provides an estimate of your VO2Max and beloved of high-schools everywhere! (Wikipedia link). Participants run back and forth between 2 cones, 20m apart to a succession of beeps that get progressively faster. How long can you can keep up with the beeps?
Details on the workout are posted below.
The East River Park track is east of the FDR at East 6th Street. It is a little over a mile from the closest subway stops (6 to Astor Place or L to First Ave).
Meet your teammates near the soccer goal toward the north end of the track.
