David and Seth both taught me something new today. I thought the wind direction in the weather forecast was the way the wind was going. In fact, it's the way the wind is coming from. So, right now, the weather forecast for Monday of ESE at 7 mph should read as "winds out of the east south east at 7 mph" instead "wind will be going in a east south east direction at 7 mph." Just thought I'd share as I was hoping for a tailwind like 2011.

    April 12, 2013

    • Emily K.

That means wind east is bad then right? Because we are running east coming in from the west. And I just checked and looks like a 10-20 mph headwind Tomm...?

Unfortunately, it does look like a 10mph headwind day. Find a big guy and draft behind him! Let him do the work.

I don't think I can handle two at once, probably not a good experience either.
Annette, I'd love to but would be difficult to pick just one off the bunch :-)

Stating the obvious here, but runners, please remember to bring your "Runner Passport" with bib pickup card in the back.
Those of you who will be cheering for us in Boston as well as from NY, thank you in advance for all the terrific support and positive energy that you send our way. It'll make a world of a difference when we're really hurting those final few miles. LET'S GO WHIPPETS!!!

    April 12, 2013

Hey all, when is everyone planning on going to the expo? I'm thinking of going Sunday at around 2:30 or 3:00 if anyone wants to join me. Anyone want to plan a group trip on Saturday as well?

      April 12, 2013

  • bob p.

Matt, is there still a plan for Sat dinner at, what was it, La Matta? I'm in if there is. Also what is the plan for a place to go for dinner after the marathon. All you fast ones will have to set a time for those of us in the back of wave 3 to change ;).
I'm getting into Boston Sun about 10am and plan to check in to hotel and then go to expo so may be little sooner than 2:30-3:00.
Also if anyone still needs a place to stay, I have a hotel room with two double beds and only me.

    April 12, 2013

    • Matthew

Hey Bob! Totally didn't know you were running Boston this year. We're doing Sunday dinner at Via Matta, but I'm not sure we have a seat left at the table since I made reservations a few weeks ago. I'll follow up with people to see if anyone isn't coming.

      April 12, 2013

    • Matthew

As for after the marathon, I'm not sure how long I can stay in Boston, but I think we're going to try to stop by this Irish pub called the Black Rose. They have bar food and beer.

Hey all, let's meet at 6:30 to get on the buses to Hopkinton. I think we can meet on the corner of Tremont and Temple right across the street from Boston Common (in front of 141 Tremont as you can see here: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=t...)

    2 · March 22, 2013

Hey all, Tommy and Xavi were the only people that got back to me about dinner the night before the race so I made reservations for us at Via Matta at 5:30 pm on the 14th: http://www.viamattarestaurant.c...

If anyone else wants to get another table there at the same time, reply to this post and we can nominate someone to make a second reservation!

Don't suppose anyone (female) wanting a roommate? Or any recommendations of where to find accommodation this late gratefully received. Thanks

    January 5, 2013

    • Xavi

Hi Angela and Kate. I would be happy to share a room. The budget around $100 (or cheaper) and downtown is fine for me. I will probably fly direct to Boston on Saturday, so do not count on me for the car from NYC. From my side, you can go ahead with the booking, just let me know the details. You can e-mail me too at [masked]. Thanks !

I am also interested in hints for accomodation. Have you already booked your rooms ? Where ? Anybody looking for roomate ? In addition: when and how are you travelling from New York to Boston ? I come from Barcelona, and I am hesitating between flying to NYC or directly to Boston...
