As I won't be able to take a whole long weekend off and enjoy possible snow loads in upstate NY or NH I propose a day hike for Monday Feb 18th.
It'll be a re-run of Dave's training hike two months ago that I couldn't attend, covering 21 miles with a modest (well, that depends on the perspective I guess) elevation gain of nearly 6000 feet.
Here's the map:
We will maintain a brisk pace, with a few stops to take in the gorgeous views.
Weather will be going to be on the sunny side, with high temps in the mid-40s. Be prepared for some snow on the ground (microspikes etc).
We would meet somewhere in DC or in the suburbs depending on who will join. As I don't own a car I would appreciate a ride or I can get a Zipcar for the day. By signing up please let us know if you can offer a ride or need one.
If I haven't hiked with you before I will require you to answer a few questions when you RSVP. This is mandatory! After all, everyone should enjoy the event, and I need to make sure everyone has the abilities to do so.
More details later. Please let me know if you have any questions.
