15 mile day hike: Robertson Mountain/Old Rag loop & "Old rag red" wine tasting

Come out with us for a spectacular hike up Robertson Mountain in the Shenandoah National Park!  If you've never been to Old Rag, its a great hike, with plenty of fun rock scrambling! If you've already been, then you probably never hiked Robertson Mountain.  Either way we are going to have a great time!  And we will wrap up the hike at the Sharp Rock Winery to taste a local wine named after the famous hike... "Old Rag Red"

We will carpool from Centreville park and ride to the trailhead together.

The hike should wrap up around 4pm. After the hike we will stop at the festival for a quick treat and cool down.

We expect to be back in Centreville by 7pm.

I will send an update on the weather conditions shortly before the event, but its always best to come prepared for any weather that presents itself!
In case you need a ride or can offer one, let people know in the comments section.

Would anybody be able to help me out with a ride? I live in rockville but I could also cab to a convenient location as well. I would really appreciate it and will help out with gas!

Hi Everyone! I hope you are looking forward to this trip! We will meet at Centreville at 7am.
Its probably a big surprise, but there is rain in the forecast: http://www.mountain-forecast.com/peaks/Old-Rag-Mountain/forecasts/1003
I will be brining full rain gear for this trip: rain jacket, rain pants, gloves, and pack cover. Unless you want to drench yourself, please consider bringing these items as well! We will have options for shortening the trip but will you really want to skip the best part of the trip just cause of some rain? Hope to see you all tomorrow! Please post if you still need a ride to Centreville!
