It will be....beautiful too...you ought to come, you would love it if you have not been there before!  I am going to post a hike or 2 here as well locally.  Hope you and Scar are ok, and look forward to catching up soon!

Announcing a new Meetup for The Washington Backpackers Meetup Group!

What: Dolly Sods Trail Sign Replacement and Party!

When: Friday, July 9,[masked]:30 PM

Where:
Centreville Park & Ride Lot
14700 Lee Highway
Centreville, VA 20120

Ok, here is another work detail and party on the mountain! We will head up to Dolly Sods on Friday evening, camp at Laneville Cabin and post new trail signs for ALL of Dolly Sods for the Monongahela National Forest Service! The trails and views will be fabulous and of course we will then rendezvous at the Forks and do some swimming and partying! Summer is a great time to visit the "Sods" as Red Creek will almost not freeze you to death as you cross it by then! By the end of the weekend you will be able to relive all the great sights and know everything about Dolly Sods! The Huckleberries and Blueberries should almost be ready by then as well to enjoy as you walk the trails in the "High Country" and the Rhododendron may still be in bloom as well! We will do Dutch Oven Gourmet, so the food will be first rate such as turkey and mashed potatoes or Cornish Game Hens, or Chicken and Ribs or a chicken stew with fresh bread, or the all time favorite of steak and baked potatoes over the fire, along with killer desserts! So let's do all the trails in Dolly Sods and replace those old trail signs while we are at it. In the process we will learn all there is to know of one of the finest Wilderness Areas in the United States, while making a few more great friends with great stories to boot! Please be in shape as Dolly Sods is some of the toughest hiking in the East. Oh, the picture you ask? One of the many Hidden Falls and Swimming Holes you will get to enjoy and leave you with great memories like that trip in 2007 did for my family and friends back then! ;-)
